This is my Girl Scout Gold award project raising awareness about Tourette's syndrome.
After my brother was diagnosed with Tourette's syndrome it was a very hard struggle for him, his tic was a distraction in class and was often secluded from his other class mates this caused him to fall into depression. Unfortunately there weren't any support groups to help him cope with all this but thankfully we found out someone was hosting a "Ticnic", a picnic at the park for people with Tourette's. There were many Adults and children all with different tics, my brother had fun playing with other kids his age as well as hearing the stories of how the adults grew up with their tic. The light was shined once again on my brother, this inspired me to make my Gold Project. I wanted to write a children's book so that if a child discovers Tourette's for the first time that he/she would know that they are not alone, much like my brother did at the Ticnic.
